Casuarina is an electoral divisions of the Northern Territory, electoral division of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was first created in 1974 and was named after the adjacent suburb of Casuarina, Northern Territory, Casuarina. Casuarina is an entirely urban electorate, covering only 12 km2 and taking in the suburbs of Brinkin, Northern Territory, Brinkin, Nakara, Northern Territory, Nakara, Tiwi, Northern Territory, Tiwi and part of Alawa, Northern Territory, Alawa, as well as the Charles Darwin University. Lauren Moss
Lauren Jane Moss (born 6 May 1987) is an Australian politician. She was elected the Labor member for Casuarina in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly in a by-election held on 18 October 2014 to replace Kon Vatskalis, a seat which she held for 10 years. She is the youngest ever member of Northern Territory Parliament. Prior to entering politics she was a youth advocate. Kon Vatskalis
Konstantine Vatskalis (born 4 April 1957) is a Greek-Australian politician and the current Lord Mayor of Darwin. Before becoming Lord Mayor in 2017 he was a Labor Party member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from September 2001 to October 2014, representing the Darwin-based electorate of Casuarina. He was Minister for Business and Economic Development, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Defence Support, Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Essential Services, Minister for Health, Minister for Mines and Energy, Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries and Minister for Children and Families. Peter Francis Adamson (born 1961 in Darwin) is a former Australian politician. He was educated at private schools, and then at the University of Sydney, where he graduated with a bachelor of Arts, majoring in Politics. Prior to entering politics, he was the sports anchor on Channel Eight (now Channel Nine) News. Nicholas Manuel Dondas (26 October 1939 – 8 September 2024) was an Australian Country Liberal politician in the Northern Territory, representing the seat of Casuarina in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1994, and the Division of Northern Territory in the Australian House of Representatives from 1996 to 1998. Political career As a member of the Legislative Assembly, Dondas served as a minister from 1979 to 1987 under Paul Everingham, Ian Tuxworth and Stephen Hatton. He was deputy leader of the CLP, and hence Deputy Chief Minister, from 1983 to 1987 under Everingham and Tuxworth. Clare Majella Martin (born 15 June 1952) is a former Australian journalist and politician. She was elected to the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly in a shock by-election win in 1995.
