Deadmau5
Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), known professionally as deadmau5 (pronounced "dead-mouse"), is a Canadian electronic music producer and disc jockey, DJ. His musical style mostly includes progressive house and electro house music, though he also produces and DJs other genres of electronic music, including techno under the alias Testpilot. Zimmerman appears and performs with a custom helmet, similar to Daft Punk and later inspiring Marshmello. He has received seven Grammy Award nominations and won four Juno Awards for his songs. Zimmerman has worked with other DJs and producers, such as Wolfgang Gartner, Rob Swire, and Chris Lake. He has also collaborated with Steve Duda as the duo BSOD and the band WTF? with Duda, Tommy Lee and DJ Aero. In 2007, he founded his own record label, Mau5trap. Rezzmau5 (stylized in all caps) is a Canadian electronic music supergroup composed of musicians Rezz and deadmau5. In the mid-2010s, Rezz began making her own music, inspired to do so in part by deadmau5. She later released music through his mau5trap label and in 2021, the two released their first formal collaboration. Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) is an Australian record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the drum and bass/electronic rock band Pendulum (drum and bass band), Pendulum, as well as Disc jockey, DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Steve Duda is an American DJ, record producer, audio engineer, manager and software engineer from Menlo Park, California. He is best known for his mid-2000s collaborative electronic music projects with Canadian record producer and DJ Deadmau5 under the names "BSOD" and "WTF?" Electro house is a genre of electronic dance music and a subgenre of house music characterized by heavy bass and a tempo around 125–135 beats per minute.
