Corruption in Greece is considered to be significant, with the country ranking as one of the most corrupt in the European Union according to the Corruption Perception Index. Kodjabashis
The kodjabashis (; singular κοτζάμπασης, ''kotzabasis''; ; from from and ) were local Christian notables in parts of the Ottoman Balkans, most often referring to Ottoman Greece and especially the Peloponnese.
