Steve Cobby is a British producer, musician, composer, and DJ based in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire. He is best known for being part of Fila Brazillia. Career After disbanding his first band, Ashley & Jackson, on Big Life Records, he co-founded Fila Brazillia with David McSherry in 1990. Together, they released 10 critically acclaimed LPs and produced over 70 remixes for artists as diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes, Black Uhuru, Simple Minds, James, A Certain Ratio, and Moloko. He formed Pork Recordings with David Brennand in 1990, 23 Records in 1999 with Sim Lister and David McSherry, and Steel Tiger Records in 2006 with Lister. Steel Tiger Records being of an umbrella for his various projects than a label per se. His other writing and production collaborations include Heights of Abraham, J*S*T*A*R*S, and The Cutler. Brian Cobby (12 October 192931 October 2012) was an English people, English actor and telephone exchange worker who, in 1985, became the first male voice of the British speaking clock. Early life Cobby was born in Gravesend, Kent, Gravesend, Kent, the son of Amy and Sydney Cobby, a retail manager. Sydney had hoped to serve in the Royal Navy like his father and grandfather before him, but was unable to join due to a ruptured eardrum. He instead joined Woolworths (United Kingdom), Woolworths and moved around the country managing its stores, finally transferring from Gravesend to Oxford, where Brian spent most of his early years. Cobby started singing while attending Ealing Academy, before becoming a chorister at Worcester College, Oxford and, later, the City of Oxford High School for Boys, where he won a competition to perform at St Paul's Cathedral. Air Commodore Arthur Henry Cobby, (26 August 1894 – 11 November 1955) was an Australian air force, military aviator. He was the leading flying ace, fighter ace of the Australian Flying Corps (AFC) during World War I, despite seeing active service for less than a year. Born and educated in Melbourne, Cobby was a bank clerk when war broke out, and was prevented by his employer from enlisting in the First Australian Imperial Force, Australian Imperial Force until 1916. After completing flight training in England, he served on the Western Front (World War I), Western Front with No. 4 Squadron RAAF, No. 4 Squadron AFC, operating Sopwith Camels. He was credited with 29 aerial victories, and his achievements were recognised with the Distinguished Service Order, the Distinguished Flying Cross (United Kingdom), Distinguished Flying Cross and Medal bar, two bars, and a Mentioned in Despatches, mention in despatches.
