Boll & Cie is a Champagne house based in Reims, a producer of sparkling wines from the Champagne region of France, founded in 1853. With the exception of the Brut Rose, all Champagnes from Boll & Cie are blanc de blancs. Boll & Cie specializes in Brut Champagne, including a Grand Cru from the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Charles de Cazanove is a Champagne (wine), Champagne producer (champagne), producer based in Reims in the region of Champagne (wine region), Champagne. The house was founded in Avize in 1811 by Charles Gabriel de Cazanove, and was further developed by his botanist son Charles Nicolas de Cazanove who was a leader in the efforts to fight phylloxera. Charles Heidsieck (Champagne)
Charles Heidsieck is the smallest of the Grandes Marques champagne Houses. Based in the Reims region of Champagne, it is one of the best-known producers for both vintage and non-vintage ''cuvée''. It has been part of EPI group since 2011. The house was founded in 1851 by the French champagne maker Charles Camille Heidsieck, who became known as Champagne Charlie. History Charles Heidsieck was born in 1822 into an eminent Reims family whose wine-making traditions date back to Florens-Louis Heidsieck (see Heidsieck & Co). In 1851, at age 29, he founded a wine house (Maison) bearing his own name. Cattier (or Champagne Cattier) is a family-owned Champagne house located in Chigny-les-Roses, a Premier Cru village of the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, Montagne de Reims, part of Champagne, France, Champagne, France. The Cattier family has owned vineyards since 1625, and has been running the House for over 13 generations. Family history In 1916 Jean Cattier had to leave the battlefront because of a severe war injury. He came back to Chigny-les-Roses, where his family had been growing vines since 1625. The city of Reims, besieged by the German army, crumbled under the shells and 60% of the city was destroyed. Champagne merchants were trying to keep a modest activity in these tough conditions, but they couldn't get grapes in the nearby vineyards. Canard-Duchêne is a Champagne house founded in 1868 and currently part of the Thiénot group, owner of its own label Champagne Thiénot, plus Joseph Perrier and Marie Stuart. The House was founded by Victor Canard and Léonie Duchêne, who gave their names to the champagne house. History In 1860, a barrel-maker called Victor Canard met a winemaker called Léonie Duchêne. They fell madly in love and got married. They both shared a great passion for wine and so they worked collaboratively to produce their own unique Champagne. Using Victor's skills in farming grapes and ageing wines in barrels and Léonie's expertise in wine-tasting and viniculture, they produced a Champagne only 8 years after they met. The Champagne House Besserat de Bellefon was founded in Aÿ in 1843 by Edmond Besserat. The particularity of the Champagne Besserat de Bellefon is that it is made to accompany the meal : indeed each "qualité" of the Cuvée des Moines are elaborate to go with different dishes. That is why this Champagne is distributed only in hotels, restaurants and wine cellars.
