Base Layer
Layered clothing is the wearing of multiple garments on top of each other, often for warmth. William Robertson Nicoll
Sir William Robertson Nicoll (10 October 18514 May 1923) was a Scottish Free Church of Scotland (1843-1900), Free Church minister (religion), minister, journalist, editor in chief, editor, and man of letters. Biography Nicoll was born in Lumsden, Aberdeenshire, the son of Rev. Harry Nicoll (1812–1891), a Free Church minister of Auchindoir, and his wife, Jane Robertson. He was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School and graduated Master's degree, MA at the University of Aberdeen in 1870, and studied for the ministry at the Free Church Divinity Hall there until 1874, when he was ordained minister of the Free Church at Dufftown, Banffshire. Parallel Passage
In Christian theology, a parallel passage is a passage in another portion of the Bible which describes the same event. Comparison of parallel passages within the Bible is a major area of Biblical scholarship. The Bible frequently describes the same event from different points of view in different canonical books yielding a more complete picture of the event than a single passage on the subject does. Some of the biblical passages describe an area of biblical study in an up close context whereas other passages provide information on the bigger picture surrounding the subject at hand. John Gill (23 November 1697 – 14 October 1771) was an English Particular Baptist theologian, Biblical scholar, and minister. He was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and attended Kettering Grammar School where he mastered the Latin classics and learned Greek by age 11. He was also a self-taught who learned everything from logic to Hebrew, his love for the latter remaining throughout his life. Early Life At the age of about 12, John Gill heard a sermon from his pastor, William Wallis, on the text, "And the God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?" (). The message stayed with Gill and eventually led to his conversion. It was not until seven years later that he was baptised.
