Averi
Averi was an American rock band that formed in Boston in 1998. The primary lineup of the band was Chad Perrone (lead vocals), Michael Currier (saxophone and backing vocals), Stuart Berk (lead guitar), Chris Tilden (bass), and Matt Lydon (drums). Averi grew in local popularity rather quickly, and eventually developed a strong national following. From 2001 through 2005, the band garnered considerable attention from record labels. In 2005, Perrone left the band to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by vocalist and guitarist Mike Golarz. The band continued to perform, and while Golarz's performance on new material was generally praised by the fanbase, he was seen as having a substantially different vocal style from Perrone, which impacted his ability to perform the group's older material. Matchbox Twenty (stylized as Matchbox 20) is an American rock band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The group currently consists of Rob Thomas (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Brian Yale (bass guitar), Paul Doucette (drums, rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Kyle Cook (lead guitar, vocals). ''The Phoenix'' (stylized as ''The Phœnix'') was the name of several alternative weekly periodicals published in the United States by Phoenix Media/Communications Group of Boston, Massachusetts, including the now defunct ''Boston Phoenix'', ''Providence Phoenix'', ''Portland Phoenix'', and ''Worcester Phoenix''. Newbury Comics is an American comic book and music retailer based in New England. Newbury Comics began as a comic book vendor on Newbury Street in Boston. The company was founded in 1978 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology students John Brusger and Mike Dreese. Dreese also published '' Boston Rock'', a music tabloid which was active from 1980 to 1987 that focused on punk, new wave and indie bands. There are now 29 stores in six states: four in New Hampshire, two in Rhode Island, one in Maine, two in Connecticut, and fourteen in Massachusetts. On August 20, 2016, Newbury Comics opened its first store outside of New England at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York.
