Christmas music radio (also known as all-Christmas or festive) is a music radio format devoted to the playing of Christmas music. Christmas music is a seasonal radio format. Radio stations that adopt the format traditionally carry some other format throughout the majority of the year (most commonly adult contemporary music or contemporary Christian music), then drop that format entirely and switch exclusively to Christmas music for the holiday season. At minimum, the all-Christmas format runs through Advent and Christmas Day, with most stations playing the format for a large portion of November and often continuing more limited Christmas music for the week after Christmas. The Christmas music radio format has its own core artists and songs, independent of whatever format the station normally runs; most stations mix this core with records more in line with their standard format. WBKV
WBKV (102.5 FM) is a radio station in Buffalo, New York. It is owned by Educational Media Foundation and is a part of its K-Love network. The license currently on 102.5 has been operating since 1946, with predecessors dating to 1932; it is grandfathered as a “superpower” station, with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 110,000 watts, more than double the FCC limit, but comparable to Buffalo's other legacy FM licenses WBUF and WDCX. The transmitter site is on Center Street in Colden, New York, on the WIVB-TV Tower. From August 1974 to June 2023, the station operated as a contemporary music station, the last 23 years of the format branded as ''Star 102.5'', using the call sign WTSS. WMGF (107.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Mount Dora, and serving Orlando and Central Florida. It is owned by iHeartMedia and airs an adult contemporary radio format, switching to a Christmas music for much of November and December. Its offices and studios are on Maitland Center Parkway in Maitland. WMGF broadcasts with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 98,000 watts from a transmitter on Miller Road in Orange City, Florida. The station can be heard as far as Jacksonville to the north, as far as Sebastian to the south, and is one of the few Orlando stations that covers Ocala and parts of Gainesville.
