David Alcaide
David Alcaide Bermúdez (born 14 December 1978) is a Spanish professional pool player. He is a two-time winner of the World Pool Masters, winning the 2017 event, defeating Jayson Shaw 8–7 in the final, and again in 2019 defeating Alexander Kazakis 9–8. Alcaide is a three-time world championship semi-finalist having reached the stage at the WPA World 10-ball Championship, in 2009 and 2015, and the WPA World Eight-ball Championship in 2011. Alcaide has also represented Europe at the Mosconi Cup in 2006, 2017, 2021 2022, 2023 and 2024 with five wins. At the 2006 event, he was the first Spanish player to compete in the competition. In addition to pool, Alcaide also plays snooker, having competed at the 2019 Gibraltar Open professional snooker event. He has also represented Spain at the World Cup of Pool on multiple occasions, partnering fellow Spaniard Francisco Sánchez Ruíz in the events. Chris Alcaide (October 22, 1923 – June 30, 2004) was an American film and television actor. He mostly appeared on western television shows including, ''Gunsmoke'', ''Bonanza'', ''Rawhide'', '' Wanted: Dead or Alive'', '' Trackdown'', '' Laramie'', ''Death Valley Days'', ''Tales of Wells Fargo'', '' Maverick'', '' Zane Grey Theatre'' and ''The Rifleman''. Early life Alcaide moved to Hollywood in 1942 and worked as a bouncer at the Hollywood Palladium. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. After the war, he returned to the Hollywood Palladium and joined the Ben Bard Players, in 1948. Career In 1958, Alcaide was the original choice of star as the lead role in Black Saddle, but studio executives thought he was too associated with badman roles and chose Peter Breck for the lead role. Ana Alcaide (born 1976, Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish performer, composer and music producer who carries out research on ancient traditions and cultures. Biography At the age of seven Alcaide took up classical violin. She studied at the Getafe Conservatory of Music (Madrid) and later at Lund University (Sweden). She has received formal scientific and musical training in several countries (Spain, Sweden and Mexico) and holds a biology degree with a specialization in botany from the Complutense University in Madrid. After being awarded a biology scholarship in 2000, Alcaide travelled to Sweden where she was first exposed to the Nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish instrument that dates from medieval times. Attracted by the complexity and depth of its sound, Alcaide taught herself how to play the nyckelharpa on the streets of Toledo, Spain.
