Wang Wei-Chen
Wang Wei-chen (; born July 3, 1991) is a Taiwanese professional baseball infielder and the captain for the CTBC Brothers of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Wang represented Taiwan at the 2019 WBSC Premier12 and the 2023 World Baseball Classic. Career Chinatrust/CTBC Brothers Wang was selected by the CTBC Brothers as their 13th pick in the 2015 Chinese Professional Baseball League draft and made his professional debut on 26 April 2016, entering as a substitute in a game against the Lamigo Monkeys at the Chiayi City Municipal Baseball Stadium, replacing Wang Sheng-wei. An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field, between first base and third base. The 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international professional baseball tournament and the fifth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. It began on March 8, 2023, and ran until March 21. Wang Sheng-wei (; born April 1, 1984 in Taiwan), nicknamed "Magneto" and known as Haro Ngayaw in Amis language, is a Taiwanese professional baseball shortstop for the Fubon Guardians of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). He holds the record for most Gold Gloves by any CPBL player with nine. Career In 2005, he played for the Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League. In 2008, he was signed by the CTBC Brothers. Chiayi Municipal Baseball Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Chiayi City, Taiwan. It is currently used for baseball games and was the home field for the Chinatrust Whales from 1998 to 2003. The stadium was originally built in 1918 during the Taiwan under Japanese rule era and has been repeatedly refurbished. After the last refurbishment (1998) the stadium can host 10,000 spectators, and regularly hosts Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) games. Trivia This stadium is not the Chiayi County Baseball Stadium located in Taibao City, Chiayi County.
