New Girl (TV Series)
''New Girl'' is an American television sitcom created by Elizabeth Meriwether and produced by 20th Television for Fox that originally aired from September 20, 2011, to May 15, 2018. The series revolves around a kooky teacher, Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel), after she moves into a Los Angeles loft with three men, Nick Miller ( Jake Johnson), Winston Schmidt ( Max Greenfield), and Winston Bishop ( Lamorne Morris); their former roommate Coach ( Damon Wayans Jr.) and Jess' best friend Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone) are also part of the series. Walter Miller (jockey)
Walter Miller (1890–1959) was an American jockey. Miller was born in Brooklyn, New York. He rode in his first race at age 14. At the age of 16, he won 388 races, a record not broken until Anthony DeSpirito did it in 1952. Between the years 1905 and 1908 Miller won 1,094 races from 4,336 mounts for an extraordinary 25.2 winning percentage. He led the U.S. in victories in both 1906 and 1907. In 1906, he won the Preakness on Whimsical. He also won the Travers Stakes, Alabama Stakes, Champagne Stakes, Saratoga Special Stakes, and Brooklyn Handicap. He was the United States National Riding Champion in 1906 and 1907. In his career, more than half the time his horse finished "in the money". On July 29, 1906, Walter Miller rode five winners on a single racecard at Brighton Beach Race Course. He set a record by riding eight consecutive winners, over a two-day period at Benning Race Track. Walter James Miller
Walter James Miller (January 16, 1918 – June 20, 2010) was an American literary critic, playwright, poet, translator and publisher. The author, co-author, editor and/or translator of more than sixty books, including four landmark annotated translations of novels by Jules Verne, Miller taught at Hofstra University, Polytechnic Institute of New York University, Colorado State University, and for over 40 years at New York University, where he created and taught a popular "Great Books" course. In 1980, he received the NYU Alumni Great Teacher Award. Samuel Walter Miller, LL. D., Litt. D. (May 5, 1864 – July 28, 1949) was an American linguist, classics scholar and archaeologist responsible for the first American excavation in Greece and a founder of the Stanford University Classics department. Early life He was born in Ashland County, Ohio to agrarian parents. After receiving an M.A. from the University of Michigan in 1884, he requested further funding from his father to pursue studies in Germany. His father noted that he couldn't possibly see how anyone could ever need any more education but Miller moved to the University of Leipzig for doctoral studies from 1884-5. Walter "Gid" Miller (September 25, 1887 – December 19, 1959) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre.
