''Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality'' is a virtual reality game compatible with HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift developed by Owlchemy Labs and published by Adult Swim Games for Microsoft Windows on April 20, 2017. It is based on the American animated series '' Rick and Morty'', whose series co-creator Justin Roiland aided in the development. A port for the PlayStation 4 was released on April 10, 2018. Gameplay Using HTC Vive, PlayStation VR or Oculus Rift, the player controls V.R. Morty, the clone of Morty Smith, the grandson of mad scientist Rick Sanchez. Owlchemy Labs is a video game developer based in Austin, Texas. The company was founded in 2010 by Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduate Alex Schwartz. Owlchemy is best known for its virtual reality video games ''Job Simulator'' and '' Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality''. In May 2017, the studio was acquired by Google. Owlchemy also founded VR Austin, one of the largest VR-focused meetups in the US with over 2000 members, which holds Austin based VR Meetings and hosts a yearly game jam. A warp, also known as a portal or teleporter, is an element in video game design that allows a player character instant travel between two locations or levels. Specific area that allow such travel is referred to as warp zone. A warp zone might be a secret passage, accessible only to players capable of finding it, but they are also commonly used as a primary mean of travel in certain games. Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source.
