Village Christian School (VCS) is a private, K-12 Christian school located in the Shadow Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, United States. The school was founded in 1949 by members of The Village Church in nearby Burbank. Their mascot is the Crusader. Village Christian has a total enrollment of approximately 1,100 students in grades K-12. History Founded in 1949, Village Christian School has provided a Christian education in the greater Los Angeles area for more than 64 years. From its beginnings in a small church building with only 40 elementary students, VCS has grown to approximately 1,100 students (K-12) on a 110-acre campus, 30 of which are developed. Bennie Francois Boatwright III (born July 13, 1996) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Shanxi Loongs of the Chinese Basketball Association. He played college basketball for the USC Trojans. Early life and high school career Boatwright is the son of police officer Bennie Boatwright Sr., who was an All-CIF shooting guard at Lutheran High. Boatwright attended Village Christian School, where he was coached by Jon Shaw. As a senior, he averaged 27 points and 12 rebounds per game. Boatwright led the team to a Southern Section 1AA championship, scoring 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the title game. He signed with USC.
