VTB United League Promo-Cup
VTB United League Promo-Cup 2008 was the first test run tournament of the VTB United League. The tournament was held during the 2008–09 basketball season on 20–22 December 2008, at the CSKA Universal Sports Hall in Moscow. The tournament included 8 teams from Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. CSKA Moscow won the tournament by defeating Khimki Moscow Region in the final. The VTB United League 2009–10 was the first complete season of the VTB United League, which is Eastern Europe's (and the Baltic region's) top-tier level competition for men's professional basketball clubs. Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK) ( English: Polish Basketball League), officially known as the Orlen Basket Liga due to its sponsorship by Orlen, is a professional men's club basketball league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. It began in 1947–48, with the name of I Liga, and was originally organized by the Polish Basketball Federation. The league changed to its current form, beginning with the 1997–98 season, after the Polska Liga Koszykówki SA, PLK SA (the Polish Basketball League Joint-stock company) took control over the league (the PLK SA was created in 1995). Michael Joseph Wilkinson (born October 1, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player. Standing at , he played at the power forward position. Amateur career Wilkinson attended Wisconsin Heights High School, where he played basketball for the Vanguards. In his senior year, Wilkinson earned the Mr. Basketball award, which is the player of the year award in Wisconsin high school basketball. Wilkinson played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2001 to 2005, redshirting his freshman year, for a total of five years with the basketball program. Kenan Bajramović (born May 24, 1981) is a Bosnian former professional basketball player. Professional career Bajramović spent the early part of his career in his native Bosnia and Herzegovina between his original club, Čelik Zenica and Bosna Sarajevo, with whom he won the national title and cup in 2005. From 2005 to 2007 he played with the Ukrainian team Azovmash Mariupol. With them he was a two time champion of the Ukrainian SuperLeague. For the 2007–08 season he moved to Lietuvos rytas. Manuchar "Manu" Markoishvili ( ka, მანუჩარ მარკოიშვილი, born 17 November 1986) is a former Georgian professional basketball player and coach who is currently an assistant coach for AS Monaco of the French LNB Élite and the EuroLeague. Early career Markoishvili as a young basketball player was very talented, and he turned into a professional basketball player in Georgia before he graduated from high school. He played for Basco Batumi in the 2001–02 season. In Basco, he distinguished himself, even though he was the youngest player of the team. The VTB United League Final Four MVP is an annual award that is given to the best player of the final four of the VTB United League competition. The award has been given out since the league began. Previously, the award was also known as the VTB United League Playoffs MVP. Winners From 2008 until 2012, and since 2018, the league ends with a final four style format. In a weekend, single-elimination games are played in the semi-finals, finals and third place game. The player who played the best during the tournament receives the award. MBC Mariupol (, formerly BK Azovmash) was a Ukrainian professional basketball club. It was founded in 1990 in the city of Mariupol in South-Eastern Ukraine.
