FarSight Studios (formerly Farsight Technologies) is an American video game developer established in 1988 by Jay Obernolte. They are an official licensed developer for all current home and handheld consoles including the Sony PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Move, PlayStation 2, PSP, and PlayStation Vita; the Microsoft Xbox, Xbox 360, and Kinect; as well as the Nintendo Wii, Wii U, DS, and 3DS. In September 2018, FarSight announced that they will also be developing several pinball tables for the Oculus Rift. The company is best known for its pinball games that focus on virtual recreations of classic pinball machines, such as ''The Pinball Arcade''. It was announced in May 2018 that FarSight will no longer produce games licensed from Williams and Bally, leading to a loss of over 50 trademarked tables from their Pinball Arcade catalog and announced they will focus mainly on tables under the Stern Pinball license. ''Tales of the Arabian Nights'' is a 1996 pinball machine produced by Williams. The game is based on the stories of ''One Thousand and One Nights'' and features a blue jinn. The marketing slogan is "Your Wish is Granted". Description Players can experience 7 Tales of the Arabian Nights that includes a travel around the ancient city of Baghdad, flying with the magic carpet and battling the evil genie. Rubbing the magic lamp conjure good genies that help to rescue the princess. The game uses a vertical magnet diverter that grabs the ball and hurls it back at the player for more suspense as an industry first. Jive Time
''Jive Time'' is a pinball machine released on April 23, 1970 and made by the Williams Manufacturing Company. This table is nearly exactly the same as a pinball machine called ''Rock 'n Roll'' which was released on the same day as ''Jive Time''. The only differences are that ''Jive Time'' has a replay feature and ''Rock 'n Roll'' has an Add a Ball feature. The designer of the two tables is Norm Clark and the art of the two tables was made by Christian Marche. Gameplay In ''Jive Time'' the main goal of the game is to get the ball into one of the Spin Holes. On the backglass there is an arrow that spins around a table of prizes each time a ball goes into the Spin Hole. Whatever prize the arrow stops on the player is rewarded with that prize. ''Firepower'' (also known as ''Multi-Ball Firepower'') is a 1980 pinball game designed by Steve Ritchie and released by Williams. The machine had a production run of 17,410 machines. ''Whirlwind'' is a pinball machine produced by Williams in 1990 and was one of the last Williams System 11b games. It was designed by Pat Lawlor, who created a previous natural disaster-themed pinball for Williams, ''Earthshaker!''. Gameplay ''Whirlwind'' is distinguished by three playfield rotating discs, and a fan topper that blows wind on the player at certain times in the game. The objective in ''Whirlwind'' is to move the storm using the compass targets to light ball locks for multiball. In multiball, a progressive jackpot can be scored by making left ramp shots from the upper right flipper. Alternatively, one can work towards the "Wizard Mode" by lighting and collecting all of the seven "Super Cellar Door" values. ''Taxi'' is a pinball machine designed by Mark Ritchie and Python Anghelo. It was released in 1988 by Williams Electronics. Gameplay The goal of the game is to pick up five passengers: Pinbot, Gorbie, Lola (or Marilyn Monroe in the original version), Dracula, and Santa. The passengers are represented by lighted illustrations in the center of the lower end of the playfield and are also featured on the backglass. If Carry Passengers is not lit, all passengers are lost when the ball drains. The original game featured Marilyn Monroe with her recognizable blonde hair on the backglass. Rules The main objective of ''Pin-Bot'' is to advance through the planets of the Solar System, starting at Pluto and reaching the Sun.
