The Master Chief Collection
''Halo: The Master Chief Collection'' is a compilation of first-person shooter video games co-developed by 343 Industries in partnership with Certain Affinity and Saber Interactive, and published by Xbox Game Studios. The collection includes the first six main installments in the ''Halo'' franchise released between 2001 and 2012, originally developed by Bungie and 343 Industries. It originally released for Xbox One on November 11, 2014. At launch, the collection comprised the first four main entries in the franchise: '' Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary'' (2011), ''Halo 2'' (2004), ''Halo 3'' (2007), and ''Halo 4'' (2012). Each game received numerous graphical and performance enhancements, including increases to resolution and framerate, while ''Halo 2'' was fully remastered as ''Halo 2 Anniversary'', receiving a full redesign of its art, audio and new cinematic cutscenes produced by Blur Studio to commemorate the game's tenth anniversary. Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) is an American video game developer based in Redmond, Washington, part of Xbox Game Studios. Headed by Pierre Hintze, the studio is responsible for the Halo (franchise), ''Halo'' science fiction franchise, and develops ''Halo'' projects themselves and in collaboration with other studios.
