Small Fry (fish)
Fish go through various life stages between fertilization and adulthood. The life of fish start as spawned eggs which hatch into immotile larvae. These larval hatchlings are not yet capable of feeding themselves and carry a yolk sac which provides stored nutrition. Before the yolk sac completely disappears, the young fish must mature enough to be able to forage independently. When they have developed to the point where they are capable of feeding by themselves, the fish are called fry. When, in addition, they have developed scales and working fins, the transition to a juvenile fish is complete and it is called a fingerling, so called as they are typically about the size of human fingers. "Small Fry" is an American popular song written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser. It was first sung and introduced by Bing Crosby, in the film '' Sing You Sinners'' (1938). In the film, Crosby sings it in a musical sequence with a young Donald O'Connor and Fred MacMurray. Crosby recorded the song on July 1, 1938 with Johnny Mercer dueting and this reached the No. 3 spot in the charts of the day. He also recorded a solo version of the song for V-Disc in 1944. Charley Yang (born August 25, 2002), known professionally as BoyWithUke, is a Korean-American singer, musician and internet personality. ''Small Fry Club'' is a children's television program that was broadcast on the DuMont Television Network. It debuted on March 11, 1947, with the title ''Movies for Small Fry'' and ended on June 15, 1951. Initially a weekly program, it grew in frequency to five days per week and in 1948 was aired seven days a week. The program is notable for having been "the first networked children's show". Format As the original title implied, ''Movies for Small Fry'' featured films and cartoons for children.
