Shippuden (2007–17)
''Naruto'' is a Japanese anime television series based on Masashi Kishimoto's 1999–2014 manga series ''Naruto''. It follows Naruto Uzumaki, a young orphan ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Like the manga, the anime series is divided into two separate parts: the first series retains the original manga's title and is set in the world of ninjas. The second series, a direct sequel titled ''Naruto: Shippuden'', takes place during his teens. Both anime series were animated by Pierrot, produced by Aniplex, and licensed by Viz Media in North America. The first anime series aired on TV Tokyo and ran for 220 episodes from October 2002 to February 2007. YTV (stylized as УTV) is a Television in Canada, Canadian English language Discretionary service, discretionary specialty channel owned by YTV Canada, Inc. a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. The channel and its programming is targeted at children and young teenagers. Its name was originally thought to be an abbreviation for "Youth Television", though the channel's website has denied this. Osamu Kobayashi (illustrator)
(January 10, 1964 – April 17, 2021) was a Japanese animator, illustrator, mechanical designer, and animation director primarily known for '' BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad'' and ''Paradise Kiss''; his guest appearance as director of episode 4 of ''Gurren Lagann'', and, most recently, episode 15 of ''Dororo''. After graduating from high school, he worked as a designer and manga artist, but following his participation in ''Grandia'' he was mainly active in the field of animation.
