SL2 (musical Group)
SL2 is an English breakbeat hardcore group from London, England. They also sound recording and reproduction, recorded, remixed or record producer, produced under the names Slipmatt & Lime and T.H.C. Background Starting out as a group of three, SL2 was originally a coming together of DJs Matt "Slipmatt" Nelson and John "Lime" Fernandez, and rap vocalist Jason "Jay-J" James. The SL2 name came from the founders' initials: Slipmatt (S) and Lime (L), and the fact that they were a duo, hence "SL2". Underground As youngsters in 1980s Britain, they were into hip-hop, before having their heads turned by the growing rave scene. Their big break came in 1989 through Slipmatt's older brother, Paul Nelson, who was running the party-promoting organisation Raindance (rave), Raindance; they became the enterprise's resident DJs, playing parties all over the United Kingdom. A year into touring with Raindance, SL2 released their debut single, "Do That Dance", through B-Ware Records. Subsequen ... Special Linear Lie Algebra
In mathematics, the special linear Lie algebra of order n over a field F, denoted \mathfrak_n F or \mathfrak(n, F), is the Lie algebra of all the n \times n matrices (with entries in F) with trace zero and with the Lie bracket ,Y:= XY-YX given by the commutator. This algebra is well studied and understood, and is often used as a model for the study of other Lie algebras. The Lie group that it generates is the special linear group. Applications The Lie algebra \mathfrak_2 \mathbb is central to the study of special relativity, general relativity and supersymmetry: its fundamental representation is the so-called spinor representation, while its adjoint representation generates the Lorentz group SO(3,1) of special relativity. The algebra \mathfrak_2 \mathbb plays an important role in the study of chaos and fractals, as it generates the Möbius group SL(2,R), which describes the automorphisms of the hyperbolic plane, the simplest Riemann surface of negative curvature; b ... Special Linear Group
In mathematics, the special linear group \operatorname(n,R) of degree n over a commutative ring R is the set of n\times n Matrix (mathematics), matrices with determinant 1, with the group operations of ordinary matrix multiplication and matrix inversion. This is the normal subgroup of the general linear group given by the kernel (algebra), kernel of the determinant :\det\colon \operatorname(n, R) \to R^\times. where R^\times is the multiplicative group of R (that is, R excluding 0 when R is a field). These elements are "special" in that they form an Algebraic variety, algebraic subvariety of the general linear group – they satisfy a polynomial equation (since the determinant is polynomial in the entries). When R is the finite field of order q, the notation \operatorname(n,q) is sometimes used. Geometric interpretation The special linear group \operatorname(n,\R) can be characterized as the group of ''volume and orientation (mathematics), orientation preserving'' linear tra ... SL2 RNA
SL2 RNA is a non-coding RNA involved in trans-splicing in lower eukaryotes. Trans-splicing is a form of RNA processing. The acquisition of a spliced leader from an SL RNA is an inter-molecular reaction which precisely joins exons derived from separately transcribed RNAs. Approximately 25% of ''C. elegans'' genes are organised into polycistronic transcription units and the presence of SL2 on an mRNA is an indication the gene is in an operon In genetics, an operon is a functioning unit of DNA containing a cluster of genes under the control of a single promoter. The genes are transcribed together into an mRNA strand and either translated together in the cytoplasm, or undergo splic .... Skylab 2
Skylab 2 (also SL-2 and SLM-1) was the first crewed mission to Skylab, the first American orbital space station. The mission was launched on an Apollo command and service module by a Saturn IB rocket on May 25, 1973, and carried NASA astronauts Pete Conrad, Joseph P. Kerwin, Paul J. Weitz to the station. The name Skylab 2 also refers to the vehicle used for that mission. The Skylab 2 mission established a twenty-eight-day record for human spaceflight duration. Its crew was the first space station occupants ever to return safely to Earth – the only previous space station occupants, the crew of the 1971 Soyuz 11 mission that had crewed the Salyut 1 station for twenty-four days, died upon reentry due to unexpected cabin depressurization. The crewed Skylab missions were officially designated Skylab 2, 3, and 4. Miscommunication about the numbering resulted in the mission emblems reading "Skylab I", "Skylab II", and "Skylab 3" respectively. Crew Backup crew Support crew * ... Leicaflex SL2
The Leicaflex series of high-end single-lens reflex 35 mm format film cameras were introduced by Leitz Camera in 1964. The first camera body was paired with the new R bayonet series of lenses. Three model of the cameras were sold by Leitz; the Leicaflex Standard, the Leicaflex SL and the Leicaflex SL2. Late into the market with high prices and limited range of lenses and accessories, Leicaflex sales were below expectations and production ended in 1976. However, the production of the R mount lenses continued and were paired with the new Leica R3 that was developed in cooperation with Minolta, together with the Minolta XE bodies.photoscala.de, July 2018, »R« – in the Shadow of the »M«, retrieved at 1 November 2020 (German).
