Mixe People
The Mixe (Spanish ' or rarely ' ) are an indigenous people of Mexico inhabiting the eastern highlands of the state of Oaxaca. They speak the Mixe languages, which are classified in the Mixe–Zoque family, and are more culturally conservative than other indigenous groups of the region, maintaining their language to this day. A population figure of 90,000 speakers of Mixe were estimated by SIL international in 1993. The Mixe name for themselves is ''ayuujkjä'äy'' meaning "people who speak the mountain language" The word "Mixe" itself is probably derived from the Nahuatl word for cloud: ''mīxtli''. Geography The region where the Mixe live is known as the Sierra Mixe and is located north east of the city of Oaxaca, bordering on the Valley of Oaxaca to the southwest, the lowlands of Tehuantepec to the east, and the highlands of Choapam and the state of Veracruz to the north. DJ Mixes
A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it is possible to create one using sound editing software. DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc. Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York City nightclub Sanctuary. ''Mixes'' is the fifth remix album by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was released on 3 August 1998, by Deconstruction Records. The album contains remixes of tracks from her sixth studio album, '' Impossible Princess'' (1997). The remixes were done by DJs such as Brothers in Rhythm, Junior Vasquez, and Todd Terry. The remixes was influenced by various genres of dance music, such as electronica and dance-pop. The album was originally scheduled for a 1999 release, but Deconstruction pre-poned the release date of ''Mixes'' in the United Kingdom to August 1998, since the Australian counterpart, '' Impossible Remixes'' (1998), had been released earlier than its original date. With favourable critical reception, ''Mixes'' charted in the United Kingdom at number sixty-three on the UK Albums Chart, her highest remix album at the time. Daniel Rosenfeld (born 9 May 1989), better known by his stage/online name C418 (pronounced "see four eighteen"), is a German musician, producer and sound engineer, best known as the composer and sound designer for the sandbox video game ''Minecraft''. He has also written and produced the theme for ''Beyond Stranger Things'' and the soundtrack for the Steam release of ''Cookie Clicker''. He has also DJed for American rock band Anamanaguchi. Life and career Rosenfeld was born in East Germany in 1989, the son of a Soviet-born father of German descent working as a goldsmith and a German mother.
