''Maria Theresa'' (German: ''Maria Theresia'') is a 1951 Austrian historical drama film directed by Emil E. Reinert and starring Paula Wessely, Fred Liewehr and Marianne Schönauer.Fritsche p.64 It portrays the life of the eighteenth century Habsburg Empress Maria Theresa. It was produced by star Paula Wessely's own production company. The film's sets were designed by the art director Werner Schlichting. Some location shooting took place at the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. Attila Hörbiger (21 April 1896 – 27 April 1987) was an Austrian stage and movie actor. Life Hörbiger was born in the Hungarian capital Budapest, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the son of engineer Hanns Hörbiger and the younger brother of actor Paul Hörbiger. In 1903 his family moved to Vienna, where his father set up a design office. Attila attended the Benedictine gymnasium at Saint Paul's Abbey, Carinthia from 1906 to 1914. Maria Eis
Maria Eis (22 February 1896 – 18 December 1954) was an Austrian actress of stage and screen. Between 1918 and 1923, Eis performed on stage at the ''Neue Wiener Bühne'' (New Vienna stage), the ''Renaissancebühne'' (Renaissance stage) and the ''Kammerspielen''. Later, she moved to Hamburg, where she played at the Thalia Theater and at the ''Deutschen Schauspielhaus'' until 1932. When she returned to Vienna, she joined an ensemble group at the ''Burgtheatre'' (City Theatre), where she played character and tragic roles up until her death. Her performances, such as Elizabeth I, Lady Macbeth, Sappho, Medea, and Iphigenia are considered noteworthy. Eis also acted in a number of successful films after 1935. Karl Ehmann (13 August 1882 – 1 November 1967) was an Austrian stage and film actor whose career spanned both the silent and sound eras of the film industry.
