Mantis (Marvel Comics)
Mantis is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared in ''The Avengers (comic book), The Avengers'' #112 (June 1973). Mantis has been depicted as a member of the Avengers (comics), Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy (2008 team), Guardians of the Galaxy, as the bride of Kang the Conqueror, and as the mother of Sequoia (comics), Sequoia. Pom Klementieff portrayed the Mantis (Marvel Cinematic Universe), character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films ''Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'' (2017), ''Avengers: Infinity War'' (2018), ''Avengers: Endgame'' (2019), ''Thor: Love and Thunder'' (2022), ''The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special'' (2022), and ''Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'' (2023).
