Patrice Lauzon (born November 26, 1975) is a Canadian ice dancing coach and former competitor. With his wife Marie-France Dubreuil, he is a two-time (2006–2007) World silver medalist. Personal life Patrice Lauzon was born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Cecile and Norman Lauzon. He married Marie-France Dubreuil in August 2008. On December 24, 2010, Dubreuil gave birth to their daughter, Billie-Rose. Competitive career Lauzon initially took figure skating classes to improve his hockey skating. He took up ice dancing at the age of twelve. Early in his career, he competed with Marisa Gravino and Chantal Lefebvre. In 1995, Lauzon teamed up with Marie-France Dubreuil and they placed 6th at their first Canadian Championships. They took the silver medal in their first appearance at Four Continents in 2000. Jérémy Lauzon (born April 28, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lauzon was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2015 NHL entry draft. He also spent time playing for the Seattle Kraken during their inaugural season. Jean-Claude Lauzon (September 29, 1953 – August 10, 1997) was a Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter. Born to a working class family in Montreal, Quebec, Lauzon dropped out of high school and worked various jobs before studying film at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His two feature-length films, '' Night Zoo'' (1987) and ''Léolo'' (1992), established him as one of the most important Canadian directors of his generation. American film critic Roger Ebert wrote that "Lauzon is so motivated by his resentments and desires that everything he creates is pressed into the cause and filled with passion." Jean-Baptiste Lauzon (March 15, 1858 – June 18, 1944) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba on three occasions: from 1897 to 1899, from 1907 to 1910, and from 1914 to 1915. Lauzon was a member of the Conservative Party. Lauzon was born on March 15, 1858, in Pointe-Claire, Canada East (now Quebec). He was educated at Pointe Claire College, and moved to Manitoba to work as a cattle dealer. He first sought election to the Manitoba legislature in the 1896 provincial election and lost to Liberal candidate James Prendergast in the constituency of St. Boniface, 357 votes to 278. Prendergast resigned shortly after the election, and Lauzon was elected to take his place in the legislature in a by-election held on February 7, 1897. He defeated Liberal candidate S.A.D. Jean de Lauzon or de Lauson (; 2 January 1586 – 16 February 1666) was the governor of New France from 1651 to 1657, one of the most challenging times for the new colony. He also was born into being the lord of Lirec. As a prominent lawyer in France, in 1613 Lauzon was appointed a counsellor in the Parliament. He served in several government positions, including president of the Grand Conseil, intendant of Provence, then of Guyenne, and of Dauphiné. Lauzon had been developing interests in the colony of New France. He was a founding member and became the director of the Compagnie des Cent-Associés. Lauzon used his influence within the company to obtain land for himself and his sons in the colony. By 1640, the Lauzons had become the biggest landowners in the colony. Jani Lauzon (born September 29, 1959) is a Canadian director, and multidisciplinary performer from the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. For much of her career she believed her family to be Métis, and centered Métis themes in her work, but in 2024 it came to light that she did not have Indigenous ancestry, which she has acknowledged. Education and influences Jani Lauzon traces her artistic influences in music, to jazz, soul, and roots music, as well as musical theatre. Guy Lauzon (; April 6, 1944 – June 22, 2025) was a Canadian politician who served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry from 2004 to 2019 as a member of the Conservative Party. Background Lauzon was born in St. Andrew's West, Ontario and his family roots in the region can be traced to the 19th century. Lauzon spent over twenty-two years in the federal public service and served as a local union president of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
