Jedi
Jedi (), Jedi Knights, or collectively the Jedi Order are the main heroic protagonists of many works of the '' Star Wars'' franchise. Working symbiotically alongside the Old Galactic Republic, and later supporting the Rebel Alliance, the Jedi Order is depicted as a monastic, academic, military, and meritocratic peacekeeping organization whose origin dates back thousands of years before the events of the first film released in the franchise. The fictional organization has inspired a real-world new religious movement and parody religion: Jediism. Within the fictional ''Star Wars'' galaxy, the Jedi are powerful guardians of order and justice, who, through intuition, rigorous training, and intensive self-discipline, are able to wield a supernatural power known as the Force, thus achieving for example the ability to move objects with the mind, perform incredible feats of strength, and connect to certain people's thoughts. Jedi Census Phenomenon
In some national population censuses which include a question on religious identity, media report numerous respondents giving their religion as Jedi (or "Jedi Knight") after the quasi-religious order in the ''Star Wars'' science fiction franchise. While a few individuals claim to practice Jediism sincerely, most who responded Jedi did so as a joke, and some as a protest against the religion question. The email asserted that any religion passing a minimum threshold (given variously as 8,000 or 10,000) would be entitled to some form of official recognition. Other reasons proffered include "do it because you love Star Wars" or "just to annoy people". The 2001 ...

Jedi Knights Trading Card Game
Jedi Knights Trading Card Game is an out-of-print collectible card game set in the ''Star Wars'' Universe and published by Decipher, Inc. on April 25, 2001. Two expansion packs, titled ''Scum and Villainy'' and ''Masters of the Force'', were produced before the end of 2001. Shortly after their release, Decipher lost the license to utilize material from the ''Star Wars'' franchise and was forced to discontinue the game. Overview ''Jedi Knights'' is centred on the classic trilogy ''(A New Hope'', ''The Empire Strikes Back'', and ''Return of the Jedi''). Unlike its predecessor, the '' Star Wars CCG'', expansions for ''Jedi Knights'' are connected with specific aspects of all three films rather than particular settings from each film taken separately. From the very release of the game its collectible nature was underlined by the existence of silver and gold foil cards, whose rarity was clearly specified by the publisher, and cards with "1st time in print" icon. Card design ''Jed ...
