''Looney Tunes Super Stars' Bugs Bunny: Hare Extraordinaire'' is a DVD of 15 new-to-DVD Bugs Bunny cartoons released on August 10, 2010. Along with ''Looney Tunes Super Stars' Daffy Duck: Frustrated Fowl, Daffy Duck: Frustrated Fowl'', these two DVDs are the successor to the ''Looney Tunes Golden Collection'' series. Friz Freleng
Isadore "Friz" Freleng (; August 21, 1905May 26, 1995), credited as I. Freleng early in his career, was an American animator, cartoonist, Film director, director, Film producer, producer, and composer known for his work at Warner Bros. Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from the 1930s to the early 1960s. In total he created more than 300 cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester the Cat, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam (to whom he was said to bear more than a passing resemblance), Granny (Looney Tunes), Granny, and Speedy Gonzales. The senior director at Warners' Termite Terrace studio, Freleng directed more cartoons than any other director in the studio (a total of 266), and is also the most officially-honored of the Warner directors, having won five Academy Awards and three Emmy Awards. Mutiny On The Bunny
''Mutiny on the Bunny'' is a 1950 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on February 11, 1950, and stars Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. It is one of three nautical-themed shorts with Sam as a pirate, along with '' Buccaneer Bunny'' (1948) and '' Captain Hareblower'' (1954). The title is a reference to the film ''Mutiny on the Bounty'' (1935). Plot Set in 18th-century England, the film centers on Yosemite Sam's attempts to commandeer a ship, the "Sad Sack," for his own mischievous purposes. He coerces Bugs Bunny into joining as a crew member under false pretenses of a free voyage around the world. Maurice Noble
Maurice James Noble (May 1, 1911 – May 18, 2001) was an American animation production designer, background artist and layout designer whose contributions to the industry spanned more than 60 years. He was a long-time associate and right-hand man of animation director Chuck Jones, especially at Warner Bros. in the 1950s and early 1960s, during which he served as Jones' layout artist and eventual co-director. His work contributed to such cartoon classics as '' Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century'', '' What's Opera, Doc?'' and the Road Runner series. Early life and Disney years Maurice Noble was born in Spooner Township, Minnesota. He spent much of his childhood in New Mexico and Southern California. ''Mad as a Mars Hare'' is a 1963 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble. The short was released on October 19, 1963, and stars Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian. The cartoon's title is a play-on-words of the phrase "mad as a March hare". The title is a parody of John Steinbeck's novel ''The Grapes of Wrath''. ''Bedevilled Rabbit'' is a 1957 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' short directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on April 13, 1957, and stars Bugs Bunny. In this cartoon, Bugs is lost in Tasmania, and has to deal with the Tasmanian Devil. Plot After a box of carrots is dropped into the middle of a jungle in Tasmania, Bugs pops out, wondering how he went from sleeping in a carrot patch to the middle of Tasmania. Suddenly, a group of animals come running through the woods, scared for their lives. A crocodile hands Bugs a booklet talking about the Tasmanian devil and the many things it eats.
