Goodbye Lady Liberty
is the first television special in the ''Lupin III'' franchise. Directed by veteran director Osamu Dezaki, it was broadcast by Nippon Television on April 1, 1989. A number of ''Lupin III'' television specials have followed with a total of 28 airing as of November 2019, including a crossover special with ''Detective Conan''. Plot Lupin is forced to give up his life of crime when he encounters Michael, a young boy who demonstrates that police computers are able to predict his every move. His retirement is short-lived when his colleague Jigen learns the location of the giant diamond called the Super Egg which was stolen from the Three Masons, a sinister secret society. The Egg is hidden in the Statue of Liberty and Lupin helps recover the diamond by stealing the entire Statue. Monkey Punch
, known by the pen name , was a Japanese manga artist, best known for his series ''Lupin III''. Life and career Katō was born in Hamanaka, Hokkaido; he began drawing at a very young age, but did not draw manga until junior high school, when his manga strips were used in the school newspaper. After graduating, he moved to Tokyo to look for work and began going to a technical school for electronics, continuing to draw for fun. While working in a ''dōjinshi'' group with other artists, he was recruited by Futabasha and drew ''yonkoma''. He was an assistant to Naoki Tsuji on ''Zero-sen Hayato'' and '' Tiger Mask''. Fujiko Mine
is a fictional character created by Monkey Punch for his manga series ''Lupin III'', which debuted in ''Weekly Manga Action'' on August 10, 1967. She is a professional criminal and spy who regularly uses her attractiveness to fool her targets. Unlike the rest of the ''Lupin III'' cast, Fujiko's physical appearance changes for most installments in the franchise. She is the star of the fourth ''Lupin III'' anime television series, 2012's '' The Woman Called Fujiko Mine'', making it the first to not star Lupin III as the protagonist. Throughout the manga and anime, Fujiko serves as Lupin's on-and-off love interest and rival, with the former exploiting the latter's weakness for women for personal gain. Don Fellows (December 2, 1922 – October 21, 2007) was an American actor known for his roles in British theater and television. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Fellows served in the United States Merchant Marine during World War II. was a Japanese actor, voice actor, narrator and theatre director from Hakodate, Hokkaidō. He was part of Theatre Echo all his career, and was the older brother of actor and voice actor Rokurō Naya. Biography Gorō Naya was born on 17 November 1929 in Hokkaidō. At the age of 15, he joined the Kamikaze, believing "My life is to die for His Majesty the Emperor." Afterwards he thought he lost "things that take youth", and then attended Ritsumeikan University, becoming a dialect coach, specialising in that of Kyoto and finding himself interested in acting: "Eventually, I started thinking, "Hey, maybe you should do this." , usually called and formerly Heiji Zenigata VII, is a fictional character created by Monkey Punch for his manga series ''Lupin III'', which debuted in ''Weekly Manga Action'' on August 10, 1967. He is named after the famous fictional Japanese detective Zenigata Heiji, of whom he is a descendant. He is most noted for his two longstanding roles, as the title character in Captain Harlock from 1978 through the 1980s and 1990s, and Goemon Ishikawa XIII of ''Lupin III'' from 1977 to 2011.
