Football Club Dordrecht, or simply FC Dordrecht () is a professional Football in the Netherlands, Dutch association football club based in Dordrecht, a city in the Western Netherlands, located in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of South Holland. They currently compete in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of the Dutch football league system. Originally founded on 16 August 1883 as ''Dordrechtsche Cricket Club'' (DCC) which later became ''Dordrechtse Football Club'' (DFC), it became a professional club in 1954 upon the introduction of professional football to the Netherlands. In 1972, the professional branch separated from the parent club and continued under the name FC Dordrecht, before becoming DS '79 in 1979. On 1 July 1991, the club merged with SV SVV from Schiedam to become ''SVV/Dordrecht'90'', before becoming ''Dordrecht '90'' the following year. Since 1994, the club has been called ''FC Dordrecht''. The Stadion Krommedijk (known as the Matchoholic Stadion for sponsorship reasons) is a multi-purpose all-seater stadium in Dordrecht, South Holland, Netherlands. It is currently mostly used for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Dordrecht. The stadium is able to hold 4,100 spectators, and was built in 1948. Formerly the stadium has been known as ''De Krommedijk'' , ''GN Bouw Stadion'', and ''Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion''. History The stadium in Dordrecht was inaugurated in 1948 as Stadion Krommedijk and the business club of the stadium, which was formerly the clubhouse, was constructed in 1958. Since then, FC Dordrecht – at that time still called D.F.C. – has played in the facility. The rest of the stands followed some years after. In 1983 and 1986, the club won promotion to the Eredivisie. Joop Van Daele
Joop van Daele (born 14 August 1947 in Rotterdam) is a retired Dutch footballer who was active as a defender. Club career Van Daele joined the Feijenoord youth set-up in 1960 from local amateurs Overmaas and stayed with the Rotterdam giants until 1977. In 1970, he won the European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup. He scored the winning goal in the homematch, the return final of the latter tournament, against Estudiantes.
