The Saint (Edwin Astley Song)
"The Saint" is a theme tune for The Saint (TV series), the British spy TV show of the same name composed first as a whistled melody by author Leslie Charteris himself, before being expanded by Edwin Astley 1962, and later Brian Dee, Irving Martin, and Orbital (band), Orbital in television and film versions. Orbital version English electronic music duo Orbital (band), Orbital covered "The Saint" and released it as a single in April 1997. It is taken from the The Saint (soundtrack), soundtrack to the The Saint (1997 film), film of the same name. ''American Gladiators'' is an athletic competition game show where contestants, referred to as "contenders", competed against the show's titular Gladiators in a series of physical games called "events" with the goal to be crowned the Grand Champion at the end of the season and win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. Over the course of the original series and a 2008 revival, twenty-three events were conceived. Each event was scored, with the objectives for scoring differing from event to event. When the original series premiered in 1989, points were awarded in multiples of five. Following a reconfiguration of the show's format in 1990, points were awarded in numbers ranging from one to ten; this carried over for the remainder of the original series and the 2008 revival. ''Eliminator'' is the eighth studio album by American rock music, rock band ZZ Top. It was released on March 23, 1983, by Warner Bros. Records, and rose high on the charts in many countries. Four hit singles were released—"Gimme All Your Lovin'" which reached the American Top 40, "Sharp Dressed Man", "TV Dinners (song), TV Dinners" and their most successful single, "Legs (song), Legs". Don Nicholson
Don Nicholson (May 28, 1927 – January 24, 2006) was an American drag racer from Missouri. He raced in the 1960s and 1970s when there were few national events. The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) estimates he won 90 percent of his match races. As of 2002, he held the record for the most number of categories in which he reached a final round (won or took second at an event): Funny Car, Pro Stock, Super Stock, Competition Eliminator, Stock, and Street. He was nicknamed "Dyno Don" after he was one of the first drivers to use a chassis dynamometer on his cars in the late 1950s, a skill that he learned while working as a line mechanic at a Chevrolet car dealer. Kawasaki Eliminator
The Eliminator name was first used by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Kawasaki in 1985 on the ZL900 A1 motorcycle, creating one of the first "sport cruisers" by using a sport bike engine in a Cruiser (motorcycle), cruiser frame. Since then, the name has been used on a variety of models ranging from 124 cc to 997 cc in engine displacement. Models ZL900 Introduced in 1985 and only produced for 2 years, the ZL900 Eliminator used the 908 cc Straight-four engine, inline-four cylinder engine from the Kawasaki Kawasaki GPZ900R, GPZ900R in a cruiser frame. Kawasaki used smaller 32 mm carburetors (the GPZ900R used 34 mm), different timing, and camshafts with less duration.
