''El Debate'' is an Argentine newspaper, published in Zárate, Buenos Aires, Zárate (Buenos Aires Province, Buenos Aires), since 1900 that began in paper format and currently operates in online format. History ''El Debate'' is the leading newspaper in the city of Zárate, located north of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was founded on July 1, 1900, by the conservative politician, Luis Güerci, with José Massoni being the first director. This first stage lasted until 1928. In this year, and during the presidency of Hipólito Yrigoyen, the title had to suspend editing. In a second stage it reappeared on November 8, 1934, this time directed by Juan Albano. ''El Debate'' is a defunct Spain, Spanish Catholic daily newspaper, published in Madrid between 1910 and 1936. It was the most important Catholic newspaper of its time in Spain. History and profile ''El Debate'' was founded in 1910 by Guillermo de Rivas during the controversy originated by the so-called Padlock Bill, against the establishment of any more religious orders in Spain. It suffered a very unsuccessful management during its first months and it was sold to Ángel Herrera Oria and his Asociación Católica Nacional de Propagandistas (ACNdP). Herrera Oria edited the newspaper from 1911 to 1933. Its headquarters was in Madrid. Ideologically, ''El Debate'' was very conservative and clericalism, clerical, and journalistically it was very modern. The paper imported journalistic techniques from the United States and in 1926 opened the first Journalism School of Spain.
