Ardino Raveloarisaona
Ardino (, formerly ) is a town in southern Bulgaria, in the Rhodope Mountains. It is located in Kardzhali Province and it is also close to Smolyan. It is famous for its textile industry. It has a machine-building factory and a tobacco manufacturing industry. Tourist attractions include the Belite Brezi, the Eagle rocks, and the Dyavolski most (Devil's bridge). History Under Ottoman rule, Ardino, then known in Turkish as Eğridere, was a kaza centre in the Sanjak of Gümülcine in the Adrianople Vilayet before the Balkan Wars. Sabahattin Ali
Sabahattin Ali (25 February 1907 – 2 April 1948) was a Turkish people, Turkish novelist, short-story writer, poet, and journalist. Early life He was born in 1907 in Ardino, Eğridere township (now Ardino in southern Bulgaria) of the Sanjak of Gümülcine (now Komotini in northern Greece), in the Ottoman Empire. His father was an Ottoman officer, Selahattin Ali, and his mother Husniye. His father's family was from the Black Sea region. He lived in Istanbul, Çanakkale and Edremit, Balıkesir, Edremit before he entered the Teacher School in Balıkesir. His elementary and middle school education was interrupted by WWI, contributing to his difficult childhood. Then he was transferred from Balikesir to the School of Education in Istanbul, where he graduated in 1926 with a teacher's certificate. Chubrika
Chubrika () is a village in Ardino Municipality, Kardzhali Province, southern-central Bulgaria. It is located from Sofia, roughly by road southwest of the city of Kardzhali, and roughly by road east of the municipal town of Ardino. To the north is Yabalkovets and to the northeast is Kobilyane, along the 865 road. It covers an area of and as of 2007 had a population of 153 people. It was formerly called Fakrŭ Bunar. Landmarks In the vicinity of Chubrika, around 13 kilometers to the southwest, the Eagle Rocks area contains a Thracian sanctuary. Dating from the 4th to 6th centuries BC, this site includes a large rock with approximately 90 trapezoidal niches. These niches were used for placing pottery and tiles related to ancient burial practices. Nearby, the ruins of the Kaleto fortress are located about 500 meters from the sanctuary. Byal Izvor
Byal izvor () is a village in Ardino Municipality, Kardzhali Province, southern-central Bulgaria. It is located from Sofia. It covers an area of 19.928 square kilometres and as of 2007 had a population of 1713 people. Landmarks Byal Izvor is situated near several historical and natural features. Approximately 8 kilometers northwest, in the Karaburun area, traces of an ancient Thracian sanctuary and fortress have been discovered. The sanctuary, used from the 5th to 4th centuries BC, includes a rock with around 90 trapezoidal niches. These niches were used for placing pottery and tiles related to burial practices. About 500 meters from this sanctuary, the Kaleto fortress remains visible. The fortress is circular, with a diameter of 67 meters and an area of 0.5 acres, constructed from stones without mortar. Brezen () is a village in Ardino Municipality, Kardzhali Province, southern-central Bulgaria. It is located from Sofia. It covers an area of 7.21 square kilometres and as of 2007 had a population of 243 people.
