Aalo, formerly Along, is a census town and headquarters of the West Siang district of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located from Likabali, which is at the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It is also an Advance Landing Ground (ALG) of the Indian Air Force. Culture Mopin is the main festival that runs from 5 to 6 April. The Yomgo River Festival, held every year during peak tourist season, and lasting 3–4 days, is celebrated from 05-9 April. This festival is celebrated with a view to promote tourism, indigenous culture, and tradition, handloom & handicrafts and showcase its rich cultural heritage. Along People
The Nu people (; alternative names include Nusu, Nung, Zauzou and Along) are one of the 56 ethnic groups recognized by the People's Republic of China. Their population of 27,000 is divided into the Northern, Central and Southern groups. Their homeland is a country of high mountains and deep ravines crossed by the Dulong, Irrawaddy ( N'Mai River and Mali River), and Nujiang rivers. The name "Nu" comes from the fact that they were living near the Nujiang river, and the name of their ethnic group derives from there. (Nujiang is also called Nu river or or Salween River.) The Nu live mainly in Kachin State and Yunnan province. In China, 90% of them are found in Gongshan, Fugong and Lanping counties in Yunnan Province, along with Lisu, Drung, Tibetan, Nakhi, Bai and Han.
