Allegations Of Genocide In Donbas
During prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the build-up to its Russian invasion of Ukraine, invasion of Ukraine, Russia falsely accused Ukraine of genocide against Russians in Ukraine, Russian speakers in the Donbas region. In March and April 2021, prior to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces began massing thousands of personnel and military equipment near Russia's border with Ukraine and in Crimea, representing the largest mobilisation since the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014.
