Alan Thicke
Alan Willis Thicke (né Jeffrey; 1 March 1947 13 December 2016) was a Canadian-American actor, songwriter, and game/talk show host. He was the father of singer Robin Thicke. Thicke was best known for playing Dr. Jason Seaver on the 1980s sitcom ''Growing Pains'' on ABC. In 2013, he was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame. Early life Thicke was born on 1 March 1947 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the son of Shirley "Joan" Isobel Marie (''née'' Greer), a nurse, and William Jeffrey, a stockbroker. They divorced in 1953. His mother remarried Brian Thicke, a physician, and they moved to Elliot Lake. Alan Thicke graduated from Elliot Lake Secondary School in 1965 and was elected homecoming king. He went on to attend the University of Western Ontario, joining the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Kirkland Lake
Kirkland Lake is a town and municipality in Timiskaming District, Ontario, Timiskaming District of Northeastern Ontario. The 2021 population, according to Statistics Canada, was 7,750. The community name was based on a nearby lake which in turn was named after Winnifred Kirkland, a secretary of the Ontario Department of Mines in Toronto. The lake was named by Surveying, surveyor Louis Rorke in 1907. Miss Kirkland never visited the town, and the lake that bore her name did not exist as it dried because of Mining, mine tailings, but recently due to floodings of the mineshafts has come back up to about half of its initial deepness. The community comprises Kirkland Lake (Teck Township), as well as Swastika, Ontario, Swastika, Chaput Hughes, Bernhardt, and Morrisette Township. ''Animal Crack-Ups'' is an American Broadcasting Company, ABC game show which aired in primetime from August 8 to September 12, 1987, after which it aired on Saturday mornings from September 12, 1987, to December 30, 1989, and again from June 2 to September 1, 1990. ''Face the Music'' is an American television game show that aired daily in television syndication, syndication from January 14, 1980, to September 1981. The show was hosted by actor Ron Ely, with Dave Williams as announcer for the first season and John Harlan (announcer), John Harlan for the second with Art James as a substitute. The Tommy Oliver Orchestra, with Lisa Donovan as vocalist, was also featured. ''Face the Music'' was produced and distributed by Sandy Frank Productions. The basic premise of ''Face the Music'' was a musical guessing game in the same vein as ''Name That Tune'', which Frank was also distributing when ''Face the Music'' premiered and for whom Oliver had been the orchestra director during the mid-1970s. Delta Upsilon (), commonly known as DU, is a collegiate men's fraternity founded on November 4, 1834, at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
