Zvika Frank
Zvika Frank (born 1948) is a Dutch-Israeli dancer, movement educator, university lecturer, and dance movement therapist. In the American Dance Therapy Association, he is registered as a dance therapist (BC-DMT). He is specialized in trauma treatments, depression, obsessive–compulsive disorder, phobias, child sexual abuse, addiction, psychosomatic problems, interpersonal problems, and many more. As a dance therapist, Frank has been living in China since 2012. In Chinese media, his name is popularly known and transcribed as Zīwéikǎ·fúlánkè (茲維卡•弗蘭克). Biography Frank was born in the Netherlands in 1948. In 1951, he came to Israel. He started studying Israeli folk dance at the age of 7. In 1978, Frank went to the United States to study dance therapy as a registered dance therapist. Dance science is the scientific study of dance and dancers, as well as the practical application of scientific principles to dance. Its aims are the enhancement of performance, the reduction of injury, and the improvement of well-being and health. Overview Dance medicine and science as a field of study developed in the 1970s and '80s out of the field of sports medicine. In the early 1980s, the American Dance Festival (ADF) started including dance medicine courses in their coursework for dancers. Body Psychotherapy
Body psychotherapy, also called body-oriented psychotherapy, is an approach to psychotherapy which applies basic principles of somatic psychology. It originated in the work of Pierre Janet, Sigmund Freud and particularly Wilhelm Reich who developed it as vegetotherapy. Branches also were developed by Alexander Lowen and John Pierrakos, both patients and students of Reich, like Reichian body-oriented psychotherapy.
