Zvenyhorod () is a village in Lviv Raion, Lviv Oblast, in the western part of Ukraine. It belongs to Davydiv rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Zvenyhorod was the capital of the former Principality of Zvenyhorod (11th and 12th centuries). Zvenyhorod Principality
The Principality of Zvenyhorod was a historical state which existed in the XI-XIII centuries in the west of modern Ukraine with the capital in Zvenyhorod. In January 1350, Principality became part of Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, Polish Kingdom. History Around the year of 1084, the principalities of Zvenyhorod, Principality of Terebovlia, Terebovlia and Principality of Peremyshl, Peremyshl were founded within the Principality of Volhynia. Zvenyhorod went to Volodar of Peremyshl, Volodar Rostyslavych, the others to his brothers. In 1141 the principality united with Principality of Peremyshl, Peremyshl and Principality of Terebovlia, Terebovlia. In 1239 the area was subordinated to the Golden Horde. Lviv Raion () is a raion (district) of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It was created on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is the city of Lviv. Four abolished raions, Horodok, Peremyshliany, Pustomyty, and Zhovkva Raions, as well as Lviv Municipality and parts of Kamianka-Buzka and Zolochiv Raions, were merged into Lviv Raion. In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. The current hromadas were established by the Cabinet of ministers of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020.
