Zucchero Fornaciari Discography
Adelmo Fornaciari (; born 25 September 1955), known professionally as Zucchero Fornaciari or simply Zucchero (), is an Italian singer, musician and songwriter. His stage name is the Italian word for "sugar", as his primary school teacher used to call him. His music is largely inspired by gospel, soul, blues and rock music, and alternates between Italian ballads and more rhythmic R&B-boogie-like pieces. He is credited as the "father of Italian blues", introducing blues to the big stage in Italy. He is one of the few European blues artists who still enjoys great international success. In his career, spanning four decades, Fornaciari has sold over 60 million records around the world, and internationally his most successful singles are " Diamante", "Il Volo/My Love", " Baila (Sexy Thing)/Baila morena", and the duet " Senza una donna (Without a Woman)" with Paul Young. Order Of Merit Of The Italian Republic
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic () is the most senior Italian order of merit. It was established in 1951 by the second President of Italy, President of the Italian Republic, Luigi Einaudi. The highest-ranking honour of the Republic, it is awarded for "merit acquired by the nation" in the fields of science, literature, arts, economy, public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities and for long and conspicuous service in civilian and military careers. The World Music Awards was an international award show founded in 1989 under the patronage of Albert II, Prince of Monaco and co-founder/executive producer John Martinotti. Wind Music Awards
The TIM Music Awards, known between 2007–2013 and 2015–2018 as Wind Music Awards, in 2014 as simply Music Awards, and between 2019 and 2021 as SEAT Music Awards, are non-competitive music awards honoring Italian music artists who have sold a certain number of copies of an album, digital song, or music DVD over the previous year in Italy, as certified by the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana. The Festivalbar () was an Italian singing competition that took place in the most important Italian squares during summer, such as the Piazza del Duomo, Catania or Piazza Bra, Verona. The first edition took place in 1964 and was broadcast by RAI. The competition was held throughout the summer and the final round always took place at the Arena in Verona after 3-4 events in various cities of Italy. Paul Antony Young (born 17 January 1956) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. Formerly the frontman of the short-lived bands Kat Kool & the Kool Cats, Streetband and Q-Tips, he became a teen idol with his solo success in the 1980s. "Senza una donna" () is a song written and performed by Italian singer and musician Zucchero on his fourth album, '' Blue's'' (1987). Originally recorded in Italian, in 1990 it was re-recorded in English with English singer and musician Paul Young. The English lyrics were contributed by Frank Musker. The song was then released as a single under the title "Senza una donna (Without a Woman)". "Baila (Sexy Thing)" (sometimes known as "Baila Morena") is a song by Italian singer Zucchero. The song was first released as the lead single of his ninth studio album ''Shake'', and it was highly popular in Italy and Spain, reaching #1 chart positions, but achieved moderate success in other countries. Zucchero also recorded an English language version for the single release. The song was later re-recorded in Spanish with the Mexican rock band Maná for the compilation album '' Zu & Co'', but only reached chart success in 2006 due to its inclusion in the soundtrack of the film French Fried Vacation 3. "Diamante" is a 1989 song composed by Francesco De Gregori (lyrics), Zucchero Fornaciari, Mino Vergnaghi and (music) and performed by Zucchero Fornaciari. Background The song, a portrait of the Italian post-war and of the ordinary life in the Po Valley countryside of the time, is dedicated to Diamante Arduini Fornaciari, the grandmother of the singer.
