Zoë Conway
Zoë Conway is an Irish violinist, trained in both classical music and traditional fiddle-playing. She is married to fellow Irish traditional musician John McIntyre. Early life Born in Dundalk in 1981, attended St Louis Secondary School, Dundalk, where she served as the leader of the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. She received a Diploma in Music Theory from the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama and Performance Diploma in 2003 from the ABSRM. Career She has performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra, the Irish Chamber Orchestra and as a member of Bill Whelan's "Riverdance". Alongside traditional musicians Donal Lunny and Mairtin O'Connor, she is a member of the group ZoDoMo. Conway has released 2 solo albums and 2 albums with her husband John with whom she also organises the Féile na Tána traditional music festival. Riverdance (song)
"Riverdance" is a song by Irish musician Bill Whelan, originally recorded in March 1993 and first performed as the interval act for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. "Riverdance" is a mostly instrumental composition performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, with an introduction sung by choral ensemble Anúna. The act received such a positive response that Son Records and Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) decided to release "Riverdance" as a single. In Ireland, the song spent a record-breaking 18 weeks at number one on the Irish Singles Chart and is the country's second-best-selling single of all time. "Riverdance" also became a top-10 hit in the United Kingdom, where it reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart. Julie Fowlis
Julie Fowlis (born 20 June 1979) is a Scottish folk singer and multi-instrumentalist who sings primarily in Scottish Gaelic. Early life Fowlis was born and grew up on North Uist, an island in the Outer Hebrides, in a Gàidhealtachd, Gaelic-speaking community. Her mother was a Gaelic-speaking islander from a family of fishermen and crofters which originated on the island of Monach Islands, Heisgeir, while her father was originally from Pitlochry on mainland Scotland. Her parents ran a hotel for many years on North Uist. She moved with her parents to Ross-shire on the mainland when she was 15 years old after her father took a new job. The family lived in Strathpeffer and Fowlis finished her secondary education at Dingwall Academy. Allt is a Swedish progressive metalcore band from Karlskoga, formed in 2020. The band has released two EPs and their debut album, ''From The New World'', was released on October 4th 2024. The band has supported and toured alongside bands such as Animals as Leaders, Imminence, Aviana, and Bleed From Within.
