Branko Zorko
Branko Zorko (born 1 July 1967) is a Croatian retired middle distance runner who specialized in the 1500 metres. Zorko competed in the 1500 metres in five Olympic Games, from 1988 to 2004, making it through to the semi-finals in 1992 and 1996. He won bronze medals at the 1993 World Indoor Championships in Toronto and the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki. In 1992 he was awarded the Franjo Bučar State Award for Sport. He was born in Hodošan. Running career Early career On November 20, 1984, Zorko ran his first ever race, which he won on a cross country course at the age of 17. Less than a year into training, he posted a time of 8:30 for 3000 meters and won a competitive high school race called ''Kros Sportskih Novosti''. He declined offers to train with AK Crvena Zvezda and instead remained in Križevci, where he did intervals on a track only once a week. Dayne Zorko (born 9 February 1989) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Zorko won a List of VFL/AFL premiers, premiership with the Brisbane Lions in 2024, and is a dual All-Australian team, All-Australian (becoming the oldest player to receive the honour with his 2024 selection), five-time Merrett–Murray Medallist and dual List of Brisbane Lions leading goalkickers, Brisbane Lions leading goalkicker. Janez Zorko
Janez Zorko (16 December 1937 – 7 October, 2023) was a Slovenian sculptor and mountain climber. He attended art school from 1957 to 1959 in Ljubljana. He moved to Paris, France in 1964, and taught Materials and Technology courses at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne from 1974 to 1976. He creates both figurative art, figurative and abstract art, abstract sculptures in marble, metal and wood. He is also a keen mountain climber, and has performed numerous ascents, both solo and with others. Zorko died on 7 October 2023, at the age of 85. References

Vlasta Zorko (born May 27, 1934 in Maribor) is a Slovenian sculptor. She studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana alongside fellow sculptor Zdenko Kalin Zdenko is a male given name of Slovak, Slovene or Croatian origin. Zdenko Zorko (born 18 August 1950) is a Croatian former Team handball, handball player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics for SFR Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia. In his youth Zdenko Zorko played association football, football in GNK Dinamo Zagreb, NK Dinamo Zagreb before playing handball. In 1972 he was part of the Yugoslav team which won the gold medal at the Munich Games. He played one match as goalkeeper. Zinka Zorko (February 24, 1936 – March 22, 2019) was a Slovenian linguist and academic. Her research focused on phonetic, theological, syntactic, and vocabulary phenomena of Carinthian, Styrian, and Pannonian dialect groups. Zorko Cvetković (September 4, 1924 – December 13, 2017) was a Croatian electrical engineer and basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Engineering career Cvetković graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Zagreb in 1950, and later obtained a doctorate in 1983. Zorko Čanadi (25 July 1925 – 24 August 2003) was a general of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). Biography In 1943, during World War II in Yugoslavia, Čanadi joined both the Yugoslav Partisans and the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (SKJ).
