Zorhan Bassong
Zorhan Ludovic Bassong (born May 7, 1999) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left-back. Early life Bassong was born in Toronto, Ontario to a Belgian Walloon mother and Cameroonian father. At three months old, he and his family moved to Montreal, where he began playing youth soccer at age five with CS Longueuil. Club career Bassong joined Cercle Brugge from Lille on January 29, 2019. He was released by the Belgian club on July 8, 2020. On December 1, 2020, it was announced that Bassong had joined Canadian MLS side CF Montréal on a 2 year contract, beginning in the 2021 season, with options for 2 additional years. After the 2022 season, his option was declined and he departed the club. In January 2023, Bassong signed with Romanian club Argeș Pitești. The 2022–23 Liga I (also known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) is the 105th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season started on 16 July 2022 and will end in May 2023. It is the seventh season to take place since the play-off/play-out format has been introduced, and CFR Cluj is the five-time consecutive defending champion club. 2021 CF Montréal Season
The 2021 Club de Foot Montréal season was the club's 28th season of existence, and their tenth in Major League Soccer, the top tier of the American soccer pyramid. This was the first season under the club's new name, being known as the Montreal Impact up until this point. Due to COVID-19 cross-border restrictions imposed by the Canadian government, CF Montréal along with two other Canadian MLS teams played home matches in the United States while also sharing stadiums with other American MLS teams. The team temporarily played home matches at Inter Miami CF's DRV PNK Stadium since the start of the season. The Championnat National 2, commonly known as National 2 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur (CFA), is a football league competition. The league serves as the fourth tier of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Championnat National. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga.
