Lucky Star (manga)
is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series by Kagami Yoshimizu. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's '' Comptiq'' magazine since December 2003. Cameo strips were published in other magazines such as '' Shōnen Ace'' and others. ''Lucky Star'' focuses on the daily lives of four girls, there is little in terms of an ongoing plot. An audio drama CD based on the series was released in August 2005, and the series spawned four video games released between 2005 and 2009. A 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation aired between April 8 and September 16, 2007. The anime was licensed in North America by Kadokawa Pictures and distributed by Bandai Entertainment; six DVDs have been released between May 2008 and March 2009. An original video animation (OVA) episode was released on September 26, 2008 accompanied by a drama CD. Bandai Entertainment released the OVA in an English-sub only version on August 4, 2009. ''Elliot Minor'' is the debut album from the English pop rock band Elliot Minor, released on 14 April 2008 through Repossession and Warner Bros. Records. History The band recorded their debut album at various studios in Los Angeles, California, London and in their hometown of York. The album was confirmed for release in 2007, before being delayed and pushed back to build more promotion. It was eventually confirmed for release on 14 April 2008. Several promotion copies were leaked onto eBay, however were swiftly removed. Demos for all of the tracks had been available for some time on various torrent websites, and several were also made available on the band's MySpace. To try and counter the leaks, the band offered the album directly from their official online store with the promise of signing the first 500 copies. The Lucky Star
''The Lucky Star'' is a comic opera, in three acts, composed by Ivan Caryll, with dialogue by Charles H. Brookfield (revised by Helen Lenoir) and lyrics by Adrian Ross and Aubrey Hopwood. It was produced by the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company and opened at the Savoy Theatre on 7 January 1899 for a run of 143 performances. The opera starred the usual Savoy Theatre cast from that period, including Walter Passmore, Henry Lytton, Robert Evett, Ruth Vincent, Emmie Owen and Isabel Jay. Direction was by Richard Barker, choreography was by Willie Warde, and costumes were designed by Percy Anderson. Background The opera is based on '' L'étoile'', written in 1877 by Eugène Leterrier and Albert Vanloo, with additional material by Paul Verlaine and music by Emmanuel Chabrier. Leslie William Morrison (born 29 December 1940), known professionally as Lucky Starr, is an Australian pioneer rock and roll, pop and country music singer, guitarist and television presenter. His most popular single, "I've Been Everywhere", appeared in early 1962, which peaked at number one in Sydney. Starr became well known through his many TV appearances on shows such as ''Bandstand'' and ''Six O'Clock Rock'', in which he briefly hosted taking over from Johnny O'Keefe, he was the first star to entertain troops in Vietnam.
