Lilongwe, Malawi
Lilongwe (, ,) is the capital and largest city of Malawi. It has a population of 989,318 as of the 2018 Census, up from a population of 674,448 in 2008. In 2020, that figure was 1,122,000. The city is located in the central region of Malawi, in the district of the same name, near the borders with Mozambique and Zambia, and it is an important economic and transportation hub for central Malawi. It is named after the Lilongwe River. History Lilongwe was first set up as a boma by the local leader Njewa around 1902, and later became an administrative centre in 1904. Gospel Kazako
Gospel Kazako (born 29 December 1968) is a Malawian entrepreneur who in 2005 founded the Zodiak Broadcasting Station, the most popular radio station in Malawi. He is also known as a poet. In July 2020 Gospel Kazako was appointed as Minister of Information and Government spokesperson by the newly elected Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera. Gospel Kazako was brought up in the southern Malawian town of Zomba, the eldest of eight children whose father was a watchman. He attended H.H.I. Secondary School in Blantyre until 1990. Malawi
Malawi, officially the Republic of Malawi, is a landlocked country in Southeastern Africa. It is bordered by Zambia to the west, Tanzania to the north and northeast, and Mozambique to the east, south, and southwest. Chewa ( ; also known as Nyanja ) is a Bantu languages, Bantu language spoken in Malawi and a recognised minority in Zambia and Mozambique. The noun class prefix ''chi-'' is used for languages, so the language is often called or Chinyanja. In Malawi, the name was officially changed from Chinyanja to Chichewa in 1968 at the insistence of President Hastings Banda, Hastings Kamuzu Banda (himself of the Chewa people), and this is still the name most commonly used in Malawi today. Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) is a non-governmental organisation with members in 11 of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) countries. Ruth Kulaisi became Ruth Kulaisi-Chikoleka is a Malawian talk show host and TV presenter. She was the Airtel Trace Music Star in 2016 and the MISA Talk Show Host of the year in 2019. Life Kulaisi comes from the village of Kahumbe, which is 50 miles from Lilongwe. She was the first child born to Douglas and Margaret Kulaisi and in time she had a sister and a brother. She learned about pastoral care in Perth in Australia where she sang and published an album of gospel music.
