Zodi Ikhia
Ikhia Aboubekr Zodi (c. 1919 – February 16, 1996) was a Niger, Nigerien politician. Life and career Born around 1919 at Winditen, Zodi came from a wealthy Tuareg people, Tuareg family; his father was a prominent person from Taghagar. He received his primary education in Niamey and his higher education at École normale supérieure William Ponty, Ecole William Ponty in Dakar. In 1941 he began teaching for nomadic schools. He went on to become school director, first for the Ecole des enfants de troupe in Bingerville and later Ecole des Kel Gress d'Arzérori. In 1946, he joined the Nigerien Progressive Party, the Nigerien affiliate of the African Democratic Rally. In 1948 he was elected to the general council of Tahoua. Starting in 1948, he became active in the Nigerien teachers trade union movement. Nigerien Berbers
The demographic features of Nigeriens, the people of Niger, consist of population density, ethnicity, education level, health of the populace, economic status, religious affiliations and other aspects of the population. The largest ethnic groups in Niger are the Hausa, who also constitute the major ethnic group in northern Nigeria, and the Zarma- Songhai (also spelled Djerma-Songhai), who also are found in parts of Mali. Both groups are sedentary farmers who live in the arable, southern tier. The Kanouri (including ''Beri Beri'', ''Manga'') make up the majority of sedentary population in the far southeast of the nation.
