Zin Min Htet
Zin Min Htet ( my, ဇင်မင်းထက်) is a Burmese military officer who is presently a Major General in the Myanmar Army. In May 2022, he was appointed as the chief of the Myanmar Police Force and deputy minister for Home Affairs, replacing Than Hlaing in both roles. He was appointed as deputy minister for Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs on 21 July 2023. Military career Zin Min Htet graduated from the 32nd intake of the Defence Services Academy. He served as the military's Joint Adjutant General from 2019 to May 2022. In December 2022, he was sanctioned by Canada in response to the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. On 20 February 2023, the European Union imposed sanctions on Zin Min Htet for human rights violations and undermining democracy and rule of law in the country. Ministry Of Sports And Youth Affairs (Myanmar)
The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs ( my, အားကစားနှင့် လူငယ်ရေးရာ ဝန်ကြီးဌာန; MOSYA) administers Myanma sports and youth affairs. The ministry was formed in 1996 as Ministry of Sports and organized as Ministry of Health and Sports in 2016. In 2021, following the formation of caretaker government, the ministry was reorganized as Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. The current union minister is Min Thein Zan, appointed by SAC Chairman Min Aung Hlaing. The Department of Sports and Physical Education, Department of Youth Affairs and their branches are under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. 2021 Myanmar Coup D'état
A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta. Acting president Myint Swe proclaimed a year-long state of emergency and declared power had been transferred to Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing. It declared the results of the November 2020 general election invalid and stated its intent to hold a new election at the end of the state of emergency. The coup d'état occurred the day before the Parliament of Myanmar was due to swear in the members elected at the 2020 election, thereby preventing this from occurring. Tatmadaw
Tatmadaw (, , ) is the official name of the armed forces of Myanmar (formerly Burma). It is administered by the Ministry of Defence and composed of the Myanmar Army, the Myanmar Navy and the Myanmar Air Force. Auxiliary services include the Myanmar Police Force, the Border Guard Forces, the Myanmar Coast Guard, and the People's Militia Units. Since independence, the Tatmadaw has faced significant ethnic insurgencies, especially in Kachin, Kayin, Kayah, and Shan states. The State Administration Council ( my, နိုင်ငံတော်စီမံအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးကောင်စီ; abbreviated SAC or နစက) is the military junta currently governing Myanmar, established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état. The Council is chaired by Min Aung Hlaing. It has formed a provisional administration, also led by Min Aung Hlaing as Prime Minister of Myanmar.
