Zim Afro T10
The Zim Afro T10 is a T10 cricket league in Zimbabwe, with teams from South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria. The league is owned by T Ten Sports Management and was launched in 2023 in association with Zimbabwe Cricket. The tournament uses a double round-robin followed by a series of playoff matches. The inaugural edition of the tournament was played in July 2023. History The league was founded by Shaji Ul Mulk, the chairman of the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The Zimbabwe edition was announced at the final of the 2022 Abu Dhabi T10, with an expectation that the inaugural edition would take place in 2023. T10 Cricket
T10 cricket is a short form cricket, short form of cricket. Two teams play a single innings, which is restricted to a maximum of ten over (cricket), overs (60 legal ball (cricket), balls) per side, with the game lasting approximately 90 minutes, matching the size of football. The format is inspired by Twenty20 cricket. History The first competition using this format took place in 2017 T10 League, December 2017, the opening season of the T10 League (now known as the Abu Dhabi T10) in the United Arab Emirates. The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially sanctioned the league. In May 2020, Eoin Morgan, the captain of the England cricket team, supported the idea of using the format Cricket at the Summer Olympics, at the Olympics, with former international cricketers Virender Sehwag and Shahid Afridi also supporting the idea. Owais Shah
Owais Alam Shah (born 22 October 1978) is a former England cricketer. A middle-order batsman, he played for Middlesex from 1995 to 2010 and Essex from 2011 to 2013 before announcing his retirement from first-class cricket. He played Twenty20 cricket for Hampshire in 2014 and 2015. He also represented England in all forms of the game. Between 2001 and 2009, he played 71 ODIs and 17 Twenty20 Internationals. Bulawayo
Bulawayo (, ; ) is the second largest city in Zimbabwe, and the largest city in the country's Matabeleland region. The city's population is disputed; the 2022 census listed it at 665,940, while the Bulawayo City Council claimed it to be about 1.2 million. Deshabandu Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas (born 27 January 1974) is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer who represented the Sri Lanka national cricket team. He is a fast medium pace bowler and regarded as one of the greatest bowlers from Sri Lanka and one of the most successful bowlers in international cricket. Narangoda Liyanaarachchige Thisara Chirantha Perera (; born 3 April 1989), popularly known as Thisara Perera, is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer who played all formats for the national team. He also captained the team in limited-overs formats. Julian Wood
Julian Ross Wood (born 21 November 1968) is a retired English cricketer. Wood was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He was born at Winchester in Hampshire and educated at Leighton Park School in Berkshire. Wood made his Hampshire first-class debut against local rivals Sussex in the 1989 County Championship. The same year Wood would also make his one-day debut against Northamptonshire. Wood would play for Hampshire until the end of the 1993 County Championship when he was released by Hampshire. Muhammad Moin Khan (; born 23 September 1971) is a Pakistani cricket administrator, coach, and former cricketer, primarily a wicket-keeper-batsman, who remained a member of the Pakistani national cricket team from 1990 to 2004.
