Zhydachiv Raion
Zhydachiv Raion () was a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the city of Zhydachiv. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. The area of Zhydachiv Raion was merged into Stryi Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was It was established in 1939. A raion (; ), often translated as district, is the second-level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, administrative division in Ukraine. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. On 17 July 2020, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) approved an administrative reform to merge most of the 490 raions, along with the "City of regional significance (Ukraine), cities of regional significance", which were previously outside the raions, into just 136 reformed raions. Urban-type Settlement
Urban-type settlement, abbreviated: ; , abbreviated: ; ; ; ; . is an official designation for lesser urbanized settlements, used in several Central and Eastern Europe, Central and Eastern European countries. The term was primarily used in the Soviet Union and later also for a short time in People's Republic of Bulgaria, socialist Bulgaria and Polish People's Republic, socialist Poland. Makhlynets (, Polish and German ''Machliniec'') is a village in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It belongs to Hnizdychiv settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Makhlynets is located 16.8 km due east of Stryi, Ukraine. History Founding Machliniec was founded in 1823 by German-speaking settlers from the southern Egerland region of Bohemia, notably the parishes of Plan and Pfraumberg. The original settlers were attracted by a publicly distributed notice from the Lord of the Manor of Daszawa, Felix, Count of Dobrzanski, "He will reasonably sell a quantity of his best land to people who want to settle on his manor." Novi Strilyshcha (; ; ) is a rural settlement in Lviv Raion, Lviv Oblast, western Ukraine. It belongs to Bibrka urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Zhuravne
Zhuravno (; ; , ) is a rural settlement in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Zhuravne settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: , 2,968 (2025 estimate). History The town was first mentioned in 1435. In the 16th century, Zhuravno was granted city status. Prior to World War II the town was located in Poland. Zhuravno gained recognition in Polish history because of the battle which took place nearby between the king of Poland, John III Sobieski, and the Turkish and Tatar invaders, a battle that ended in a peace treaty. Khodoriv (, ; ) is a city in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast, western Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Khodoriv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.
