Zhouzi Qingshui Temple
The Qing Shui Temple () is a temple located around Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung, Lotus Lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Description The temple is situated at the East and faces to the West. Lotus Lake is in front of the temple. On its right hand side lays Panping Mountain, and its left hand side is Great and Small Tortoise Mountains. The temple's style is a mixture of Eastern and Western. The structure is magnificent and the impressive style is dignified and solemn. The statue of the intelligent and courageous master garrisoned the village at then trance. It is height of 50 feet, length of 30 feet and width of 28 feet. It was inlaid by 387 units of Hunglung stones. The wooden carved traditional palace lanterns hung at the main temple has an impressive dignified and solemn air. Zuoying District () is a District (Taiwan), district of Kaohsiung, Kaohsiung City in southern Republic of China, Taiwan. Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung
Lotus Pond () is an artificial lake and popular tourist destination on the east side of Zuoying District in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Opened in 1951, it is famous for the lotus plants on the lake and the numerous temples around the lake, including the Spring and Autumn Pavilions (春秋閣), the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (龍虎塔), and the Confucian Temple (孔廟). Lotus Pond was the site for several water sporting events for World Games 2009, including canoe polo, water ski, and dragon boat. Patriarch Ching Chwee (; 1047-1101), also known as Chó͘-su-kong (), born Tan Chiau Eng () was a Zen (Chan) Buddhist monk during the Northern Song from Anxi County, Quanzhou. He was said to have gained supernatural powers through his skill in learning and preaching the Dharma and meditation. Through this, he is said to have saved the town of Anxi during a period of drought, bringing rain as he went from place to place. In reverence, the villagers built shrines to him and hence became a deity in Chinese folk religion.
