Zhoushuizi
Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province. It is located in Ganjingzi District, about northwest of the city center. In 2018 the airport handled 18,758,171 passengers, making it the busiest airport in Northeast China and the 24th busiest nationwide. The airport is the hub for Dalian Airlines and a focus city for China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines. As Zhoushuizi Airport has reached its designed capacity, the new Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport is being built on reclaimed land to replace it. History Zhoushuizi was originally an insect-infested marsh, called "Choushuizi" ( zh, labels=no, c=臭水子) or "smelly waters" by nearby residents. China's Busiest Airports By Passenger Traffic
China's busiest airports are a series of lists ranking the 100 busiest airports in Mainland China according to the number of total passengers, including statistics for total aircraft movements and total cargo movements, following the official register yearly since 2000. The data here presented are provided by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and these statistics do not include the results for the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, or the country of Taiwan, ROC. Both Hong Kong and Macau have their own civil aviation regulators (the Civil Aviation Department and the Civil Aviation Authority respectively); Taiwan also has its own civil aviation regulator (the Aviation Safety Council). Dalian Airlines Co Ltd is an airline based at Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport in Dalian, Liaoning, China. It is jointly owned by Air China, investing RMB 800 million in cash to hold an 80% stake in the new company, and Dalian Baoshui Zhengtong Co, investing RMB 200 million for the remaining 20%. Dalian ( ) is a major sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the third-most populous city of Northeast China (after Shenyang and Harbin). Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport
Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport is an international airport being built to serve the city of Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province. Once open, it will replace the existing Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport as the city's main airport. It is being built on a of reclaimed land off the coast of Dalian. Expected to be open by 2025, it is set to become the world's largest offshore airport. Background Dalian is currently served by Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, which has been used for both military and commercial flights since 1924 when Dalian was Japan's leased territory. As air traffic skyrocketed, the airport was expanded four times, in 1992, 1993, 2005, and 2011, and served more than 13 million passengers in 2012, ranking 15th in China.
