Zhongxing New Village
Zhongxing New Village, sometimes rendered as Chunghsing New Village is an urban village located in Nantou City, Nantou County, Taiwan (ROC) and was the seat of government of Taiwan Province until the abolition of the Taiwan Provincial Government in 2018. The term ''zhōngxīng'' is from a Chinese legend (), referring to the restoration of the Xia dynasty by king Shao Kang, an allusion to the ROC government taking back mainland China. It is a planned town with a population of 25,549 as of February 2010. With all the buildings owned by the government, development is strictly controlled and carefully planned. Shao Kang
Shao Kang (, his surname was Sì 姒) was the sixth king of the Xia dynasty of ancient China. He was the son of Xiang. His father was killed in a battle against Han Zhuo's two sons, Han Jiao and Han Yi; Shao Kang's mother Ji managed to escape and had him after a few months. After he grew up, Shao Kang and his followers engaged in a battle against Han Zhuo, defeated and killed him, and restored the Xia dynasty. He was succeeded as king by his son Zhu. Another son Wuyu was traditionally credited with civilizing the Yue of Zhejiang and establishing the state of Yue at Kuaiji. Liming New Village
Liming New Village ( zh, t=黎明新村, p=Límíng Xīncūn) is a planned community located in Nantun District, Taichung City, Taiwan. The community's boundaries roughly corresponds to those of Liming Village. History Originally, Taipei was simultaneously the capital of the Republic of China and Taiwan Province, which was deemed a security risk in the case of an invasion by the Communist government in mainland China. Therefore, it was decided that the provincial government would move to central Taiwan, and government employees would live in new planned communities inspired by the garden city movement.
