Zhongxiang
Zhongxiang () is a county-level city of Jingmen, central Hubei province, People's Republic of China. The name ''Zhongxiang'' means "Blessed with propitious omen", and was given to the city by the Jiajing Emperor in the Ming dynasty. History Zhongxiang is one of the cradles of Chu (state), Chu culture. It was the alternate capital of the Chu state in the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. Because the Jiajing Emperor (r. 1521–1566) of the Ming dynasty was born and had lived in the city before he succeeded to the throne, Zhongxiang, the place where the Chengtian Zhou (country subdivision), Prefecture (''fu'') Government Office was located, became one of the three major prefectures directly under the central government. Jingmen
Jingmen ( zh, t=, s=, w=Ching1mên2, p=Jīngmén) is a prefecture-level city in central Hubei province, People's Republic of China. Jingmen is within an area where cotton and oil crops are planted. The population of the prefecture is 2,873,687 (2010 population census). The urban area of Jingmen City has a population of about 400,000.It covers an area of 12,400 square kilometers and has a total population of more than 3 million. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 155 kilometers and the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 131 kilometers. Jiajing Emperor
The Jiajing Emperor (16September 150723January 1567), also known by his temple name as the Emperor Shizong of Ming, personal name Zhu Houcong, art name, art names Yaozhai, Leixuan, and Tianchi Diaosou, was the 12th List of emperors of the Ming dynasty, emperor of the Ming dynasty, reigning from 1521 to 1567. He succeeded his cousin, the Zhengde Emperor. The Jiajing Emperor was born as a cousin of the reigning Zhengde Emperor, so his accession to the throne was unexpected, but when the Zhengde Emperor died without an heir, the government, led by Senior Grand Secretary Yang Tinghe and Empress Zhang (Hongzhi), Empress Dowager Zhang, chose him as the new ruler. Zhu Youyuan
Zhu Youyuan (22 July 1476 – 13 July 1519), was a prince of the Ming dynasty of China. He was the fourth son of the Chenghua Emperor and father of the Jiajing Emperor. Zhu Youyuan was the fourth son of the Chenghua Emperor, the ninth emperor of the Chinese Ming dynasty, and one of his concubines, Lady Shao. The emperor's two eldest sons died early, and his third son Zhu Youcheng (the Hongzhi Emperor) succeeded him. Upon the Hongzhi Emperor's accession to the throne in 1487, Zhu Youyuan was given the title Prince of Xing (). In 1492, he married Lady Jiang, the daughter of an officer of the imperial guard. Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties () is the designation under which the UNESCO has included several tombs and burial complexes in the list of World Heritage Sites. Yicheng, Hubei
Yicheng () is a county-level city in northwestern Hubei, People's Republic of China. It is under the administration of Xiangyang City. History In 1945, in order to commemorate the anti-Japanese generals Zhang Zizhong in the Battle of Zaoyi, renamed Zizhong County, belonged to the Office of the Administrative Inspector of the Fifth District of Hubei Province. After December 1947, the area east of Hanshui was under the jurisdiction of the Chinese Communist Party (liberated zone).
