Zhao Taimou
Zhao Taimou (; 1889–1968) was a Chinese educator. He was the president of Shandong University from September 1932 until June 1936, and again from 1946 until 1949. Life Zhao was born in Qingzhou, Shandong in 1889. In 1914, he entered the English Department of Peking University. In 1919, he entered Columbia University to study literature and continued to the graduate school there to specialize in drama. During the May Thirtieth Movement in 1925, he returned to China at the same time as Wen Yiduo, Yu Shangyuan and Liang Shiqiu. Zhao served as a professor and head of the Department of Drama at Beijing Art College. He also lectured drama theory courses at Peking University. He was appointed the first president of Shandong University. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Zhao became a professor of foreign languages at Shandong University. Lin Jiqing
Lin Jiqing (, English: Theodore Linn) was a Chinese educator. He was the acting president of Shandong University in Qingdao from July 1936 to 1946. This was during the Second Sino-Japanese War. During this time, Lin oversaw a tumultuous period as president of Shandong University as it moved from Qingdao to Anqing and then to Wanxian in 1938. Prior to this, Lin was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Cheeloo University, Qilu University from around 1930 until 1936, when he was succeeded by Lin Mou. During this time, Lin, through the Harvard-Yenching Institute and in partnership with Henry W. Luce, Dr. Henry Luce, established the Qida Institute of Chinese Studies. Lin attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, receiving a mining engineering degree in 1918 and Columbia University in New York City. Yang Zhensheng
Yang Zhensheng (; 24 November 1890–7 March 1956) was a Chinese educator and author from Penglai District in Shandong Province. In 1919, Yang and 31 other Peking University (Beida) students participated in the Tiananmen Square protests of 1919. They were arrested by the police for demonstrating outside the home of Cao Rulin, minister of communication and the chief spokesman for Japanese colonial interest in the Chinese government; Yang and the other students were jailed for three days. Yang was considered a "hot-headed radical" in the Beida literature department and stirred the ire of his professors by sharply critiquing Chinese culture. He went on to study personal and behavioural psychology at Columbia University.
